Case study · ViralFooty
From a solo account to a 750,000-follower football network in a year
I began at ViralFooty as a one-person operation, grew three Facebook and Twitter accounts past 750,000 followers in a year, then hired and trained a team to keep it running.
The challenge
Football fans on Facebook and Twitter had endless pages to follow. A new account needed content people wanted to share, posted often enough to keep showing up.
What I did
Created the content myself
Wrote the posts and made the graphics in Photoshop, building a recognisable style across three accounts.
Published consistently
Kept a steady publishing rhythm so the pages stayed in followers’ feeds.
Built a team
As the pages grew, hired eight people and trained them in content creation, Photoshop graphics and social publishing.
Results
- Three accounts grown to more than 750,000 followers within a year.
- A one-person operation turned into a team of eight.
What this shows
Growing an audience is one skill. Teaching others to do it well, so it keeps growing without you, is another.
Measurement note: Individual account sizes and engagement figures are not published here.
